The Game Wizards Video Game Production Team at The Art Institute of Los Angeles California was founded in the Summer of 2003 by Academic Director Eric T. Elder and Faculty members Nick Marks and Andy Clayton. The intentions of forming the group were to create a class which was as close to a real world game development environment as possible, to have students be best prepared for the industry, to create a persistent brand that would be recognized internally and externally for it’s quality, and to have something that incoming students would aspire to be apart of, and graduates would be proud to have participated in.

The Game Wizards Team is now over five years old and has now produced more than 13 titles.

Game Wizards alums have gotten hired at several of the biggest company’s in the industry such as Electronic Arts, Activison (Luxoflux, Treyarch, Neversoft, Infinity Ward), Sony Santa Monica and THQ (Heavy Iron) to name a few.

The Game Wizards team has grown from 20 to an average size 60-70 every quarter working on anywhere from one to four game projects at a time. Most games are created as MOD’s using the Unreal 3 engine, but we have used the Crysis and Source engines as well.

The Game Wizards have had tremendous success so far and we continue to raise our standards on every project. We look forward to continuing to provide students with the best game education in the field, and training and developing the game industry professionals of the future.
